Software Engineering

I ship services and the tooling around them, from a 17-container distributed system to a browser extension and its companion iOS app.

Eighteen months as a software engineer at Sapaad, working on a multi-tenant SaaS platform where the data pipelines I built and the Spark jobs I tuned sat behind more than 75 customer dashboards. Coursework and personal projects since have pushed on distributed systems: a LinkedIn-style platform running as 17 coordinated containers communicating over Kafka, and a Yelp clone rebuilt around events so services fail and recover independently.

Also the unglamorous parts that decide whether anyone else can run your work. A ROS 2 and Gazebo environment that comes up with one command, identically on macOS and Linux, with the GUI tools attached. A model wrapped in an API, containerized, and redeployed on every commit. A Chrome extension and a SwiftUI app kept in sync across two platforms.

LinkedIn Simulation with an AI Recruiting Assistant

A LinkedIn-style hiring platform running as 17 coordinated services, plus an AI assistant that takes a recruiter from résumé to outreach and pauses for human approval before it sends anything.

Real2Sim2Real: Mirroring a Real Workspace into Simulation

Locates the real cube and bowl with printed markers and a calibrated overhead camera, then places them at matching coordinates in a physics simulation, so policies train against the real table's layout.

Relevant experience

The parts of my roles that bear on this work. The résumé has all of it.

Graduate Research Assistant · SJSU Department of Applied Data Science

Mar 2026 to present

  • Built a resumable physical-robot evaluation pipeline for a 100-trial fixed and randomized cube-placement protocol with automatic return-to-start, stale-cache guards, placement-error measurement, and success/grasp/failure logging. Completed all 50 fixed-position rollouts at 92% success and 2.49 cm mean placement error.

Software Engineer · Sapaad

Jun 2023 to Oct 2024

  • Built production data pipelines processing 5M+ daily rows across a multi-tenant SaaS platform using Databricks and PySpark for recommendation model feature extraction.
  • Optimized 10+ Spark jobs through SQL window function tuning and caching, reducing dashboard query latency by 20% across 75+ tenant instances.
